Thank you for stopping by my blog. Here, I'm thrilled to share some of my favourite recipes with all of you.
I'm Leo Panapakidis, originally from Greece and living in Surrey, UK. My career journey has been quite the adventure. It commenced with nursing college in Greece, where I obtained my degree. However, my path veered towards culinary education, focusing on pastry and baking arts. This led me to a fulfilling nine-year stint in the hospitality industry. Despite its rewards, I eventually realised that hospitality wasn't my ultimate calling. So, I decided to return to 'school' and completed a course in HR, specialising in people management. It may not have been the conventional route, but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing. Each twist and turn has enriched my life with diverse experiences and invaluable lessons.
Food has always held a special place in my heart, deeply rooted in Greek culture. It's more than just sustenance; it's a unifying force that brings people together and creates lasting memories. For me, good food is synonymous with fresh ingredients and a generous sprinkle of love. After all, food crafted without passion lacks that special flavour.
Living far from my family has underscored the importance of cherished memories, particularly those spent with my beloved grandmother. Our shared moments of baking delights together are etched in my mind, becoming bittersweet reminders as time marches on. She's a true legend in my eyes, and even as she ages, her influence remains profound. Thankfully, technology bridges the physical distance, allowing me to stay connected with her, albeit virtually.
Among the treasures from my grandma's kitchen is her legendary apple pie!
